Local LLM: how to test its Polish
Short answer
You test a local LLM for Polish documents on the task it is meant to do: a set with negations, proper names and missing conditions, in the same configuration and on the target hardware. Fluent language is not enough if the model changes the meaning of a sentence, and a public ranking only points to candidates.

Testing language models: statistics 2026
2.5 mo.
payback of a €3,000 local app at 400 documents a month: €1,861 of work today, €679 with checking and a GPU server. Scenario.
11 of 13
According to the NoLiMa study (2025), at 32,000 tokens of context 11 of 13 models fall below half of the accuracy they reach with a short context.
502.14 s
According to a Syntalith experiment (2026), Qwen3.8-27B on a modified vLLM fixed a bug in Go code in 502.14 s and scored 100/100 on Syntalith's criteria.

According to a Syntalith experiment (2026), all measurements ran on one RTX 3090 with one active request, so they do not describe throughput for many users.

20.0%
According to Eurostat (2025), 20.0% of EU companies with at least 10 employees used AI.

A model that writes fluently can turn “does not apply” into “applies”, confuse a product name or add a condition that was never in the source. These errors only show up on a test set that contains them. Anthropic describes building evaluations from specific tasks and grading criteria.
- Sentences with negation and exceptions
- Proper names, codes and units
- Documents with a missing condition
- The same configuration and hardware for every model
The test set should contain the hard parts of Polish
Prepare short texts with an unambiguous answer and a place where it can be checked. In a fictional example the sentence reads: “Delivery by Friday has not been confirmed; we will set the expected date after the supplier replies”. The summary “delivery on Friday” loses the most important information.
Add inflected forms of names, an industry abbreviation and two similar company names. Check whether the model tells the parties apart and keeps the uncertainty. A separate test should hold a question the document does not answer. A useful result points out the gap and leaves the likely value out.
Compare the same task configuration
Give the candidates the same text and the required format. Keep the model version, the settings and the input file. If you change the way the material is fed in, record it as a separate variant. Otherwise it is hard to tell whether the model or the data preparation caused the difference.
The grading can cover whether the finding is correct, the source, whether gaps are kept and the time spent checking. Do not merge factual errors and style preferences into one score without explaining it. A shorter answer that kept the meaning can be better than a long summary with one false detail.
Hardware and the way the model runs are part of the local LLM test
Test the model in the environment planned for the users. The response time for one request does not describe behaviour when the team works at the same time. Write down the waiting time, the document length and the cases where the tool did not finish the task.
LM Studio describes working with downloaded models and documents without the internet, and separately the network operations, such as downloading models and updates. That is a property of one specific way of using it. It does not prove that any app with a local model sends no data. LM Studio documentation, checked on 9 October 2026.
When is the result enough for the next decision?
Keep the failed attempts too, and grade new texts after you have chosen a candidate. A small set helps you reject weak configurations; it does not justify a promise of zero errors. This article proposes a method and does not present a new model benchmark.
Syntalith can discuss a private LLM together with the task, the environment and the acceptance criteria. The scope and the price need to be agreed. Before you choose the infrastructure, also read the comparison of a local model and an API. For the first call, it is enough to describe the type of documents and the errors the recipient cannot accept.
What a local model for Polish documents costs and when it pays back
- Today
- 400 documents × 8 min = 53.3 h × €34.90 = €1,861
- With the app, an employee checks the output in 25% of the time
- €465
- Hetzner GEX45 GPU server
- €214
- Saving
- €1,182 a month
Payback of €3,000
2.5 months
The volume, the time and the checking share are the scenario's assumptions, which we measure in the trial. €34.90 an hour is the EU average hourly labour cost for 2025 according to Eurostat. Price of the GEX45 with 24 GB of GPU memory from Hetzner's website on 22 October 2026, without the one-off setup fee of €209.
- Where the app takes documents from and where it saves results
- What stays in logs, backups and the history of questions
- Who has access to questions, answers and summaries
- Who updates the model, the app and the set of documents
Where to start
In the free process review we choose one task and 20 to 100 documents the team has already worked on, and within 2 working days you get a written summary with a price. We roll out the local model as part of private LLMs, and the app around it as an AI app.

How we count the payback: a local model for Polish
We run the same count for your team in the free process review.
€4,188
a month for the work on 600 questions
EU cloud version payback: 0.8 mo.
Our assumptions are 12 minutes to find an answer in the documentation, and checking in 15% of the old time. €34.90 an hour is the EU average hourly labour cost for 2025 according to Eurostat, for companies with 10 or more employees. Model cost: Claude Sonnet 5.5, about 6,000 + 500 tokens per answer in the EU cloud version, at the ECB rate of 1.1205 USD per euro on 22 October 2026. We count the payback for an app with a model in the EU cloud (from €3,000 net). We price the model on your server after a call, and the cost of people's work stays the same.
