SAP and AI: how to price the first integration
Short answer
You price the first AI integration with a company system by starting from the document an employee prepares, the interface through which the system will accept the record, and the approval that is binding. At Syntalith an automation of one process costs from €3,000 net. At 600 orders a month of 8 minutes each, it pays back in 1.4 months.

In place of a request to „connect AI to the system”, point to the document an employee prepares and the place they take the information from. Settle whether the result should be a proposal, a saved document or a change to an existing line. Each option needs a different acceptance.
In a sample order, the client adds in an email: „deliver the remaining units later”. The team has to work out which line item and quantity the note refers to. The model prepares a question or a proposed split for review, and without clarification it creates no delivery date and changes no agreed commitment. In a manufacturing plant, the client's consent to a split delivery needs a separate check.

| Reviewing the environment | product, version, available interface and owner |
| Input material | channels, formats and how the order is identified |
| Review | fields to approve and where corrections are made |
| Write | type of document, permissions and confirmation of the operation |
| Maintenance | changes to the interface, the rules and errors |

What it costs and when it pays back
- Today
- 600 orders × 8 min = 80 h (€2,792)
- With the system, a person checks the output in 25% of the time
- €698
- Model, 2 calls per case, Claude Sonnet 5.5
- €12
- Cost of one case
- €4.65 today, €1.18 with the system
- Saving
- €2,082 a month
Payback of €3,000
1.4 months
The volume, the time and the checking share are the scenario's assumptions. €34.90 an hour is the EU average hourly labour cost for 2025 according to Eurostat. Model: 3,000 input tokens and 500 output tokens per call at Anthropic's rates, at the ECB rate of 1.1205 USD per euro on 22 October 2026.
The count covers the work around a case: searching, reading, writing and handing over. What remains is the time to check the result, 25% of today's work in the scenario. Before the quote, we measure both times on 20 to 100 cases the team has already handled, in a free test that takes 5 working days.
The threshold for a simple project is neither the vendor's price list nor a promised date. For acceptance we keep the version of the rules, a sample input and the ID of the result, and a proposal that covers only a review of the data does not count as a test of the write.
Check your current approval flow
The vendor shows approval forms, conditions and a task inbox in its Build Process Automation tutorial. It is an example of a platform feature to compare with the process you need. The licence and the connection in your environment have to be checked separately. If the approval flow already works, the project can be limited to preparing the input data. A second decision panel needs a reason: the employee has to know which approval is binding. Count the vendor's licences, the test environment and your team's time separately, and compare offers for the same operation.

Where to start
For the call, the product name and a description of the document that takes manual work today are enough. To compare offers, use an implementation brief, and the scope is described in automation around SAP. We build this kind of rollout as part of AI automations. For the free analysis, a description of one case from recent weeks and of the tools it passed through is enough. You do not need to send confidential documents, and you get a written plan within 2 working days.

How we count the payback: orders in the system
We run the same count for your orders in the free analysis.
€9,307
a month for handling 2,000 orders by hand
Payback: 0.4 mo.
8 minutes to enter and check an order and checking in 15% of the old time are our assumptions. €34.90 an hour is the EU average hourly labour cost for 2025 according to Eurostat, for companies with 10 or more employees. Model cost: reading the order in our system (about €0.0006) plus matching the lines (Claude Sonnet 5.5, about 3,000 + 500 tokens), at the ECB rate of 1.1205 USD per euro on 22 October 2026.
