AI training for people who approve team outputs

A manager receives more and more AI-assisted drafts. They read smoothly, but checking their basis takes attention, and “please revise” starts another round. People who approve work need practice of their own: identifying what requires checking, asking the author a useful question, and explaining a revision without taking over the entire task.

Syntalith can prepare training for authors and the people reviewing their work. With the process owner, we select documents that repeatedly come back and discuss expectations for a usable version. The proposal explains how drafting practice and review fit together. A buyer can discuss a sample comment and assess whether it addresses a real difficulty in the team.

What reviewers need to recognize

The program covers how models work and situations where fluent writing makes assessment harder. Reviewers practice tracing claims to sources, comparing a conclusion with the evidence, and recognizing insufficient context. They also consider whether the document answers its reader's question and supports the next action.

Practice can use approved documents in ChatGPT Work or Claude Cowork. A reviewer might ask the tool to compare passages and then check that comparison independently. A second review by the same model does not establish that the original response is correct. The instructor helps turn a discrepancy into a question the author can address.

The scope also distinguishes a substantive error, missing information, and an editorial preference. An unsupported conclusion needs a different response from a sentence the manager would write more briefly. The team can develop a shared understanding of these comments while retaining individual writing styles.

Feedback that lets the author continue

In a hypothetical comparison of two proposals, the author recommends the cheaper option. The reviewer notices that the account does not explain the difference in service coverage. Instead of rewriting the analysis, they ask the author to compare that part of both proposals. The workshop can examine whether the comment identifies the work needed and whether the author knows where to look. The next version should make the choice assessable, even if the recommendation stays the same.

CIPD recommends involving managers, subject experts, and employees in identifying learning needs. In approval work, each sees a different part of the difficulty: why a revision was requested, the effort it requires, or what it means for the reader.

The company retains its decision responsibilities

A workshop can help describe what information an approver needs and when clarification is required. The company still determines decision authority. If every minor document waits for one person because of the process design, that allocation may need attention independently of training.

Authors and reviewers can exchange roles while working on material. Management experience does not determine tool familiarity, so introductions and task difficulty are considered separately. In an independent attempt, a reviewer receives a new document and writes comments the author can act on without further explanation of every sentence.

We agree on approved material, participation by people who understand the content, and how work will be discussed. Retained examples or later consultations can be specified in the proposal; they are not automatically part of every engagement.

Describe a document that keeps moving between its author and approver. We can discuss gaps in preparation and feedback, then choose relevant practice. See our pricing page for information about working together.
