Learning automation in Make: your first scenario
Short answer
Start learning Make with a small process whose result you can check by hand: four fictional records, a status filter, a manual run and a retry. At Syntalith team training costs from €1,150 net a day, and with 8 people each recovering 1 hour a week it pays back in 1.0 month.
- net for implementation for a team of up to 10 people, paid once
- from €1,150
- from start to work of the entire team
- 2 weeks
- after this time, we measure the effect on the same tasks
- 30 days
- conversation with an engineer and a written plan within 2 business days
- €0

A result that sends nothing to a customer
A team collects topic ideas for an internal newsletter. A record has an identifier, a title, a responsible person and a status. The first scope moves complete, accepted ideas to a test editorial list. No newsletter is sent, and nothing goes to publication. On paper, write: „read the record, check the fields and the status, prepare an entry on the list”. If nobody knows who sets the accepted status, clarify it with the process owner before choosing modules.
What a filter and a manual run teach you in Make
Make lets you place a filter between modules: records that meet the condition go on, and the rest end their path. Rejection by a filter does not create a task to clarify the gaps. The On demand mode runs a scenario without a schedule, through Run once or an API call, so setting it does not on its own block API calls.
| Test record | Expected behaviour |
|---|---|
| T-01: all fields, status accepted | one entry on the editorial list |
| T-02: no responsible person | no entry and a visible reason for the stop |
| T-03: all fields, status draft | not passed on for delivery |
| T-01 sent again | no second entry for the same idea |
- 01Descriptionthe process steps on paper before the modules
- 02Modulesread the record, filter the status, write to the test list
- 03Triala manual run on four records
- 04Retrya rule that checks the identifier of an earlier entry
- 05Changea new responsible person in T-01 and a chosen update rule
How you know you can maintain a Make scenario
A second person adds a record with an unexpected status. The participant finds the cause of the result without replaying the whole exercise, shows where they will change the condition and checks that the fix does not let incomplete cases through. Linking modules is part of the work. You also need to understand the permissions of connections, the result of a failed write and how to stop the scenario. AI is worth adding in a later exercise, when the input is a free-text description, because ordinary rules check the status and whether a field is present.

The hours saved are the scenario's assumption, which we check by timing the tasks before the training and after 30 days. €34.90 an hour is the EU average hourly labour cost for 2025 according to Eurostat. The Make Free plan has no charge and includes 1,000 credits a month according to Make's price list of 22 October 2026.
- Describe the process before choosing modules
- Set a filter and explain what happens to a rejected record
- Recognise a retry by the case identifier
- Find the cause of an unexpected result and stop the scenario

„I already use AI.”
Your people too. Just no rules.
From our conversations with companies
5 na 10 employees paste sensitive data into private AI accounts: contracts, invoices, customer data.
In ESET survey (2026)
1 na 10 admits this in the survey.
Customer data pasted into a private AI account without an data processing agreement is a violation of the GDPR.
Don't worry, we won't tell anyone :)
What do we see in companies that "already use"
- Only ChatGPT or Claude accounts, without plugins, skills, integrations and MCP servers with company tools.
- Company programs are not connected to AI. People still click through systems and Excel, and enter chat data manually.
- Lack of company standards: everyone writes instructions in their own way, no one shares what works.
- No rules for personal data, GDPR and company secrets.
- No limits and no visibility: no one knows who uses AI, how much and for what.
62% Polish employees use AI at work · 27% companies have written rules for working with AI.

„Is my data safe?”
Yes. You choose where they go: from your company account to the model on your server.
00Employee's private account
Customer and company data ends up in an account that the company cannot see or control. There is no data processing agreement, so it is a violation of the GDPR. When an employee leaves, the chat history goes with them.
01ChatGPT or Claude corporate account
The provider does not use your data to train models. A copy of the queries remains in his logs for up to 30 days.
02API with zero retention (ZDR)
The provider processes the request and does not save anything. It requires his consent, we prepare the application together.
03Processing in the EU
Queries are counted and stored in Europe: OpenAI in the EU region, Claude via clouds with the EU region.
04Model at your place
The open model runs on your server or in your cloud in the EU. The data does not go outside the company.
What we do with every implementation
- Confidentiality agreement and data processing agreement before we receive any data.
- You choose the cases for the prototype and we anonymize them upon request.
- The data stays in the EU and we delete it after the test.
- Corporate accounts with an administrator on your side.
When data cannot leave the company
The open model runs on your server or in your cloud in the EU. To choose from:
- White-tailed eagle
- Polish model, SpeakLeash and ACK Cyfronet AGH
- PLLUM
- Polish model, HIVE consortium commissioned by the Ministry of Digitization
- Qwen
- Alibaba
- GLM
- Zhipu AI
- DeepSeek
- DeepSeek

When you have thousands of similar emails, documents or reports, we teach a small open model based on your examples. It works for you, responds quickly and costs less to maintain than a large model. We measure quality on issues that the model has not seen while learning.
Przemysław and Piotr did it in large programming and consulting companies. Artem did it before and does it today at Syntalith. It's about models on your own infrastructure, tuning and quality measurement.

How we count the payback: an automation platform
We run the same count for your process in the free process review.

Payback: 1.5 mo.
5 minutes to retype a document between systems and checking in 15% of the old time are our assumptions. €34.90 an hour is the EU average hourly labour cost for 2025 according to Eurostat, for companies with 10 or more employees. Model cost: reading the document in our order system (about €0.0006) plus matching (Claude Sonnet 5.5, about 3,000 + 500 tokens), at the ECB rate of 1.1205 USD per euro on 22 October 2026.

How do you start learning Make?
With a small process on fictional data whose result you can check by hand. First describe the steps on paper, then choose the modules, and run the trial on four records that include missing data and a repeat.
Does a filter in Make stop incomplete records?
Yes, records that do not meet the condition end their path. A filter does not create a task to clarify the gaps and does not recognise a retry, so both need their own rules.
How much does automation training cost?
At Syntalith from €1,150 net for a day of workshop for the team. With 8 people and 1 hour a week each, the payback is 1.0 month, and the Make Free plan with 1,000 credits a month is enough for the exercises.
Training or ordering a build?
Training, when the team should understand and fix similar flows itself. A build from €3,000 net, when you need a process running between company systems with exceptions handled.
